Targeted Test Drilling Assists Understanding of Gold System at Kemar Minerals' Malartic Project in Quebec
Kemar Minerals Inc.'s latest test drill program at their Malartic project in Quebec has, according to the company, unearthed a potentially significant gold system that lies to the south west of the site which is 100% owned and operated by them.
The Saskatchewan based mining company's latest drill program involved a series of 22 test drills, targeting an area of 1.6 square kilometers, of which 9 of the assay results reported to date confirm the intersection of considerable mineralization.
The highlights include drill holes 004-1124-MP and 011-1124-MP, which returned just over 16.18 grams of gold per ton over 33 meters at 21-meter depth and 12.76 grams of gold per ton over 51 meters at a 19-meter depth respectively.
"These latest results have given us a much better understanding of the site's gold mineralization which confirms our suspicions that the site deserves such a targeted approach to discover its ongoing potential as one of our most productive sites," said Dr. François Lévesque, Director of Geology & Sustainability at Kemar Minerals Inc.
"With such results as these we are all very excited with the high-grade gold intercepts which confirms there is a robust mineralized system beneath this area. This precise localized drilling has also greatly improved our understanding of the orientation of the gold-bearing structures at the project," Dr. Lévesque added.
The area recently drilled was identified during an earlier test drill program in late 2022, following two years of property-wide systematic regional exploration, these new findings lie within an area of no known mineral occurrences or historical drilling.
"The recent drill results were not by luck, we knew exactly where to drill as a result of exhaustive exploration. The only surprise was the level of high-grade gold mineralization which has also resulted in us being able to define a better estimate of potential future reserves," Dr. Lévesque concluded.
The company expect to have available further test results confirmed in early 2025.
